Untold Accounts

Media, mood, and the expression of emotions.

The intent of Untold Accounts is to communicate a palpable mood or emotion to the viewer through cinematic film stills. Initially, I used other forms of media such as songs or movies as inspiration for my work, capitalizing on my emotional response to make a photograph expressing the same mood. As the project evolved, however, I moved away from this approach and took on a more ambiguous style, hoping to allow each viewer a different interpretation of each photo. I chose to use a 16:9 crop in all of my photos because I found this proportion most conducive to a cinematic narrative, giving the viewer a window into a scene as though it were happening right in front of them.
